Apple Crumble Recipe

Recipe created by Abby Burdett

I mean, there’s no way dessert can get any better than this!! Right??!

This single serve apple crumble is a super simple, super healthy and super creative way to warm up and treat yourself at the end of a busy day. The star of this dessert is hands down the Apple Pie Bar that not only provides the perfect blend of apple and cinnamon flavours to leave you feeling satisfied, but also creates the best crunchy topping once cooked that we all love!

A pro tip is to leave a few bigger chunks when you crumble the bar so that when you take a big bite, you get that nice crunch and pop of flavour!

INGREDIENTS

For the apple filling:
- 1 small apple, diced
- 1 tbsp apple and cinnamon sugar free maple syrup
- sprinkle of cinnamon

For the crumble:
- 1/3 cup (30g) oats
- 1/2 tbsp apple and cinnamon sugar free maple syrup
- 2 1/2 tbsp unsweetened almond milk
- 1/2 tbsp protein powder
- 1/4 of apple pie bar @bluedinosaurbars, crumbled
Toppings:
- 3 tbsp vanilla yogurt
- sprinkle of cinnamon

METHOD

1. Preheat the oven to 200C and heat a non-stick pan on low heat
2. Mix apple filling ingredients together and add to the pan
3. Cook for 2 minutes or until the syrup thickens, then pour into an oven safe dish (option to microwave the mixture instead. I used the stove as I don’t own a microwave haha)
4. Mix the crumble ingredients together and pour over the apple filling
5. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes
6. Add toppings and enjoy!
